“Love your enemies.”—Matthew 5:44 NIV

This sounds absolutely ludicrous in the natural and is not possible in our own strength. The good news is that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.
We don’t have to like our enemy. We don’t have to ever trust our enemy again. But God says we do need to love our enemy. This is not a warm, squishy-hug love, but the decision of love.
An important question to answer is: how do we love an enemy?
We forgive them,pray for them and we refuse to seek revenge. We even look for an opportunity to do good to them. Just as important, but no less challenging, is that we don’t talk poorly about them.
This is a tall order but God would never ask us to do something if it weren’t for our own blessing and victory.
