Thought for the day

When we receive a prophetic word this is what we should do:

1. Test the Prophecy (1 Thessalonians 5:20–21):
“Do not despise prophecies, but test everything; hold fast what is good.” We’re encouraged not to dismiss prophecy outright, but to examine it carefully. Consider:
The character and integrity of the person giving the prophecy.
* Does it align with Scripture?
* Does it glorify Christ?
* Does it encourage, edify, or comfort (1 Corinthians 14:3)?
* Does it bear good fruit?

2. Pray Over It (James 1:5):
Ask God for wisdom and discernment. The Holy Spirit can confirm truth or bring caution to our spirit.

3. Wait and Watch (Habakkuk 2:3):
Not all prophetic words are for immediate action. Some require waiting and spiritual maturity to understand fully.

4. Seek Wise Counsel (Proverbs 11:14):
Share the word with mature believers or spiritual mentors who can help discern its meaning and validity.

5. Remain Humble and Obedient:
If the word is confirmed and from God, be faithful in responding, whether it requires prayer, preparation, or action.
