Thought for the day

A mindset that assumes there’s plenty of time to commit one’s life to Jesus can be spiritually dangerous for several reasons:
1. False Sense of Security
Believing there’s always more time can lead people to delay the most important decision of their lives. No one is guaranteed tomorrow. Life is unpredictable, and putting off faith can mean missing the opportunity altogether.
2. Hardening of the Heart
The more someone resists or delays responding to God, the easier it becomes to ignore that prompting in the future. Over time, what once stirred conviction might not have the same effect.
3. Living Without Purpose
Delaying commitment to Christ often means living without the peace, joy, and purpose He offers now. It’s not just about eternity—life today is impacted by whether we walk with Him or not.
4. Eternal Consequences
From a Christian perspective, the most serious danger is missing out on salvation. Scripture emphasizes urgency (2 Corinthians 6:2 – “Now is the day of salvation”), highlighting that the decision shouldn’t be postponed.
5. Deceptive Comfort
Satan often uses procrastination as a tool, not by convincing people to reject Jesus outright, but simply to wait. That delay can be just as effective in keeping someone from the truth.
