Thought for the day
As Christians gifts and character are two major components. Unfortunately there is a tendency to focus on the gifts. We assume that if If a man or a woman is a great speaker, or singer, or writer, that this individual must surely be very godly and possess sterling character. Otherwise, why would God anoint and bless his or her ministry this way?
However the harsh reality is that anointing and talent do not always guarantee character. To be impressive on stage or behind a pulpit does not indicate that one is impressive in one’s daily life, in one’s relationships, or regarding all those critical, small decisions that add up to integrity.
It is important to note that our gift will not go beyond our character. Our character is what sustains the gift to achieve and fulfil God’s purposes.
Song of Songs 2:15 NIV
[15] Catch for us the foxes, the little foxes that ruin the vineyards, our vineyards that are in bloom.
