Thought for the day

As Christians we know that we are not meant to worry but yet we do. We worry about what has already happened and what has yet to take place.
There are many reasons why we shouldn’t worry. Worry causes stress and wreaks havoc on our health and negatively impacts our relationships with others.
However the real reasons why we worry, often has more to do with our relationship with God than the people and situations we are worried about.
Here are 5 reasons why we worry and in identifying them in our life we will be enabled to prayerfully realign these with the truth of the Word of God:
1. We may worry because we forget God is all-powerful. ( James 4:10; Psalm 18:35)
2. We may worry because we’ve forgotten His presence. (Psalm 139:7-12)
3. We may worry because we don’t truly believe He is capable. (Philippians 4:6-7)
4. We may worry because we try to control our lives and the lives of others. (Job 42:1; Psalm 44:3)
5. We may worry because we don’t really believe God is good. (Matthew 7:11; Romans 8:28-29; Romans 8:38-39)

PRAY THIS PRAYER:

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for telling me in Your Word that I don’t need to worry about anything, but instead pray about everything, with gratitude for what You have done and will continue to do, and then I will experience Your peace that is unlike anything I can experience on this earth. Thank You for being a Good Father to Your children and for knowing what is best for me and those I love. I give You all my concerns, worries, anxieties, and fears, trusting You will take them, work them out according to Your perfect will, and leave me with the peace of Your presence. I ask these things in the Name of Jesus, who can do all things. Amen.
