Thought for the day
It is important that we gain an understanding that God is in the restoration business. Throughout the Word of God is the astonishing record of the Lord’s effort to reclaim and to restore those who are eternally His, but who in a moment of weakness betrayed their initial allegiance. The potential for restoration plainly exists. In Galatians 6:1 NIV ,we are told ”Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.”
There are common scriptural threads about restoration, and these threads outline processes and responsibilities that if embraced, have the potential of releasing the backslidden from their bondage and restoring them back to the Lord’s enjoyment and employment.
Restoration is so much more than mending broken hearts and bringing closure to sad chapters in life. It is refusing to surrender any of heaven’s own to hell’s work and redeploying wounded soldiers, that have been restored, into constructive service for the glory of God. We should remember that God controls the future and that He is the God of restoration. When we surrender everything to Him ,He is able to restore us to beyond where we were. He is the God of exceedingly and abundantly more than we could ever hope, think or imagine.
