Thought for the day
Here are some key reasons why we shouldn’t use coarse language:
1. Honour God:
Our words should reflect our relationship with God. Using coarse language can tarnish our witness and contradict the holiness He calls us to embody (Ephesians 4:29, Colossians 3:8).
2. Build Up, Not Tear Down:
Scripture urges us to use language that encourages and strengthens others, not language that hurts or demeans (Ephesians 4:29, Proverbs 16:24).
3. Reflect Christ’s Character:
Jesus’ speech was full of grace and truth, and as His followers, we are called to imitate His example (Luke 4:22, 1 Peter 2:21).
4. Avoid Negative Influence:
Coarse language can lead others to stumble in their faith or give a bad impression of Christianity (1 Corinthians 10:32-33, Matthew 5:16).
