Here are five key characteristics of Godly friendship:
1. Love and Sacrifice:
Godly friend demonstrates selfless love, willing to sacrifice for the good of the other, following Christ’s example (John 15:13, 1 John 3:16).
2. Honesty and Truthfulness:
Godly friends speak the truth in love, helping each other grow and stay on the right path (Ephesians 4:15, Proverbs 27:5-6).
3. Encouragement and Support:
They uplift and encourage one another in both good times and challenges, strengthening each other’s faith (Hebrews 10:24-25, 1 Thessalonians 5:11).
4. Faithfulness and Loyalty:
True friends are loyal, standing by each other in both joys and struggles, offering steadfast support (Proverbs 18:24, Proverbs 17:17).
5. Spiritual Growth and Accountability:
They challenge one another to grow in their relationship with God, offering wise counsel and holding each other accountable (Proverbs 27:17, Colossians 3:16).
