Thought for the day
Self-justification is dangerous for us as Christians because it turns our eyes from God’s grace to our own righteousness, leading us away from humility, repentance, and the gospel.
Here are some reasons why self-justification Is dangerous:
1. It blinds us to our sin (Proverbs 14:12)
2. It fuels pride instead of humility (James 4:6)
3. It replaces Christ’s righteousness with our own (Romans 10:3)
4. It blocks confession and healing (1 John 1:8–9)
5. It keeps us from God’s mercy (Luke 18:9–14)
6. It produces hypocrisy (Luke 16:15)
7. It leads us back to the flesh, not the Spirit (Galatians 3:3)
In the end, self-justification harms our walk with Christ, but true freedom comes from relying on His righteousness, not our own.
