Thought for the day
#HeartofGiving
[2] “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. [3] But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, [4] so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”
(Matthew 6:2-4 NIV)
As a follower of Christ giving to others should be as natural as our next breath. However the heart behind our giving is of all importance. When we give we should give God all the Glory. It is not coming from us but from Him as He has blessed us to be a blessing. We should not say things like, ” I blessed so and so”. It all comes from our Heavenly Father. If we are helping someone we should not make it known because in doing so we are robbing them of their dignity and in fact turning the very blessing into cursing. If they want to testify as to how God has used you to bless them, then let them do so of their own accord.
