Thought for the day

#ChristianWorldView

Our Christian world view should be based on the absolute conviction that the Bible is God’s Word, our message and ultimate authority (“our final court of appeal”).That Christ died for our sins, rose again, returned to the right hand of God and will come again. That if we seek Him we will find him (Jeremiah 29:13). We are saved from the eternal consequences of our sins, forgiven for all time and have an eternal hope. The Christian world view is established on the primacy of Jesus Christ for our eternal salvation. Whatever in and around us that is not of Christ is of the world, and will not last. The world seeks power, prestige, position and possessions and as Christians we should know that the only real fulfilment comes from a personal relationship with Christ (John 17:3).

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:33‬ ‭NIV‬‬
[33] But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Our world view gives us confidence, a mandate for mission, a reason for thinking and living the way we do, an explanation for our lives, planning, preaching, opinions, decisions, and leadership direction. It is redemptive, based on God reaching out to humanity, giving power to break free from old thinking and old ways of responding, and change, linked to the possibility of reconciliation with Father God and a promise of a new life.

‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:1‭-‬2‬ ‭NIV‬‬
[1] Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. [2] Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
