Thought for the day
As Christians, we’re called to live in a way that honours God in everything we do. One important part of that is our attitude toward work and responsibility. Laziness can hold us back from God’s purpose, while diligence helps us grow and serve others.
Why it’s important not to be lazy:
1. Work is God’s design: God created us to work and use our gifts faithfully (Genesis 2:15; Colossians 3:23).
2. Laziness hinders love: Being lazy keeps us from serving and helping others (Ephesians 4:28).
3. Laziness brings harm: It leads to both spiritual and practical trouble (Proverbs 13:4).
4. Diligence honours God: Working faithfully shows others God’s goodness and brings Him glory (Matthew 5:16).
Avoiding laziness isn’t just about being busy — it’s about being faithful. When we work diligently, we honour God, bless others, and grow stronger in our relationship with Him. Through hard work and perseverance, we reflect God’s character to the world.
