Thought for the day
Here are some brief dangers of populism (or seeking popularity) in our Christian walk:
1. Compromising truth – We may be tempted to change or water down God’s Word to please others (Galatians 1:10).
2. Pride and self-focus – Seeking approval can shift our focus from glorifying God to glorifying ourselves.
3. Fear of rejection – Worrying about what people think can make us silent about our faith or moral convictions.
4. Loss of spiritual depth – Chasing trends or acceptance can distract us from genuine devotion and obedience to Christ.
5. Weak witness – When we conform to the world’s standards, our testimony loses power and authenticity (Romans 12:2).
