Purity is important for us as Christians in our daily walk because it reflects God’s holiness and keeps us close to Him.
Here are five brief reasons why:
1. Purity reflects God’s holy nature
We are called to live like the One we follow. 1 Peter 1:15–16 – “Be holy in all you do, for it is written: ‘Be holy, because I am holy.’”
2. Purity keeps our hearts and minds clean
It helps us stay spiritually focused and undistracted. Matthew 5:8 – “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.”
3. Purity protects us from sin’s consequences
Living pure helps us avoid spiritual and emotional harm. Proverbs 4:23 – “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”
4. Purity honours God with our bodies and lives
Our lives are a living sacrifice to Him. 1 Corinthians 6:19–20 – “Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit… Therefore honor God with your bodies.”
5. Purity strengthens our witness to others
A pure life shows others the reality of Christ in us. Philippians 2:15 – “…so that you may become blameless and pure… as you shine among them like stars in the sky.”
In summary, purity matters because it keeps us aligned with God, protects our walk, and shines His light to the world.
