Thought for the day

As Christians, being a son or daughter of God means we have been adopted into God’s family through faith in Jesus Christ.
Here’s what that means:

1. We are adopted into God’s family
Through Jesus, we become God’s children by grace. Galatians 4:6–7 – “Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts… So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child.”

2. We have a personal relationship with God
As His children, we can call Him “Father.” Romans 8:15 – “You received the Spirit of adoption… by whom we cry, ‘Abba, Father.’”

3. We are heirs with Christ
We share in Christ’s inheritance and promises. Romans 8:17 – “Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ…”

4. We are loved, accepted, and secure
Our identity is rooted in God’s unchanging love. 1 John 3:1 – “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!”

5. We are called to reflect our Father’s character
As His children, we grow to be more like Him. Matthew 5:9 – “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”

In short, being God’s son or daughter means living in His love, belonging to His family, and walking in His purpose.
