Thought for the day

As Christians, we are no longer slaves to sin because through Christ, we have been set free from sin’s power and given a new identity in Him.
Here are some key reasons why we are no longer slaves to sin :

1. Christ broke sin’s power through His death
Jesus’ death defeated sin’s control over us. Romans 6:6 – “Our old self was crucified with Him… so that we should no longer be slaves to sin.”

2. We are made new in Christ
As believers have a new nature that desires righteousness. 2 Corinthians 5:17 – “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new is here!”

3. We are now under grace, not law
God’s grace empowers us to live in freedom, not bondage. Romans 6:14 – “For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.”

4. We have the Holy Spirit to help us
The Spirit gives us power to resist sin and live holy lives. Galatians 5:16 – “Walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.”

5. We now serve righteousness, not sin
Our allegiance has changed—we now live to please God. Romans 6:18 – “You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.”

In Christ, we are free—not to do as we please, but to live in the freedom of obedience and righteousness.
