It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

If one had to do a Love litmus test to establish the degree that the abovementioned elements of Love operate in our lives as believers we would probably find this to be sorely lacking in some of the areas mentioned above. A real stumbling block to the abovementioned Love fruit being evident in most Christian lives is the fact that there is often a lack of a deep and meaningful relationship with our Heavenly Father. Christians are trying to manufacture their own fruit which is a counterfeit of the genuine fruit produced in our lives by the Spirit of God through a deep and meaningful surrender to the will of our Father in all areas of our Christian walk. We need to live a life fully surrendered to Jesus and allow His Love to flow in everything that we do. In Him we live, move and have our being.
