Thought for the day

The call to continuously look for ways to give is rooted in the life, teachings, and example of Jesus. Giving isn’t optional — it’s essential to following Him.

1. Reflecting the Character of God
God gave His Son for us (John 3:16). As His children, we are called to mirror His generosity.
“Freely you have received; freely give.” – Matthew 10:8

2. Following the Example of Jesus
Jesus gave His time, compassion, and life. We follow Him by doing the same.
“The Son of Man came… to serve and to give His life.” – Mark 10:45

3. Demonstrating Faith in Action
True faith results in action, especially toward those in need.
“Faith without works is dead.” – James 2:17

4. Building the Kingdom of God
Our giving supports the spread of the Gospel and helps the hurting.

5. Guarding Against Greed
Generosity shifts our hearts away from materialism and toward God.
“Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” – Matthew 6:21

6. Growing Spiritually
Giving builds trust in God, grows our faith, and brings joy.
“It is more blessed to give than to receive.” – Acts 20:35

7. Being a Light to the World
Generosity reflects God’s love and draws others to Him.
“Let your light shine… that they may see your good deeds.” – Matthew 5:16

Giving isn’t just financial, it includes time, love, and presence. We give because God gave first. A generous life is a Christlike life.
