Thought for the day

We’re called to walk in wisdom and discernment. Being “fruit inspectors” means recognizing the evidence of genuine faith in ourselves and others, based on Jesus’ teaching that we’ll know people by their fruits.
As Christians, we are called to be “fruit inspectors” for a few key biblical reasons:
1. Jesus Taught Us to Discern by Fruit
In Matthew 7:16-20, Jesus said, “You will know them by their fruits.” This means we are to evaluate actions and character, not just words.
2. Protecting the Church
Inspecting fruit helps guard against false teachers and harmful influences (Matthew 7:15; Acts 20:28-31).
3. Encouraging Growth
Recognizing good or lacking fruit in ourselves and others allows for accountability, encouragement, and spiritual growth (Galatians 6:1; Hebrews 10:24-25).
4. Living Out True Faith
James 2:17 reminds us that faith without works is dead. Fruit inspection helps ensure our faith is alive and active.

This isn’t about judging hearts but discerning lives by biblical standards with humility and love.
