Thought for the day

As Christians, we are called to be covenantal and not transactional because:
1. God is covenantal:
God’s relationship with His people is based on covenant—a committed, faithful relationship rooted in love, not on what we can “give” Him in return.
2. Love over merit:
Christian faith emphasizes grace, mercy, and unconditional love, rather than earning favor through deeds or bargains.
3. Jesus modeled covenant:
Jesus gave Himself fully for us without expecting anything in return—His sacrifice was relational, not transactional.
4. Relationships, not deals:
The Christian life is about deep, faithful relationships with God and others, not exchanges or keeping score.
5. Witness to the world:
Living covenantally reflects God’s character and offers a countercultural witness in a world driven by self-interest and transactions.
