Thought for the day

Narcissism is spiritually dangerous or “demonic” for several key reasons:

1. Self-Exaltation Over God
Narcissism promotes self-worship, pride, and ego, directly opposing the call to humility and submission to God (James 4:6).
2. Lack of Love and Compassion
Narcissists often lack genuine empathy, which violates Christ’s command to love others sacrificially (John 13:34-35).
3. Destructive to Community
Narcissism breeds division, manipulation, and control, harming the unity and peace Christ desires for His body, the Church (1 Corinthians 12:25).
4. Idolatry of Self
Placing oneself at the center of life is a form of idolatry, replacing God’s rightful place (Exodus 20:3).
5. Blinds to Sin and Repentance
Narcissism resists accountability, making repentance and transformation difficult (1 John 1:8-9).

In essence, narcissism turns the heart inward, away from God and others, which aligns with the enemy’s desire to corrupt love, humility, and truth.
