Thought of the day.
If we are wanting to have a fresh start in our life we need to purpose that whatever we’re going to do, that we will do it now. We mustn’t say, “Next year I’m going to make a fresh start” or “Next month I’m going to make some changes” or “Tomorrow I’m going to make that a priority.” It’s now or never and we have to seize the moment.
Each and every day, we have opportunities for a fresh start, but we often don’t take advantage of them because we are prone to procrastination.Procrastination is a strange phenomenon. We think it will make our life easier when it actually does just the opposite. Procrastination is a stress generator. When we know the right thing to do, today is the time to do it and we mustn’t assume that we can wait for tomorrow.
The Word of God warns us over and over about presuming upon tomorrow. We are not guaranteed a tomorrow. Jesus said, “No procrastination. No backward looks. You can’t put God’s kingdom off till tomorrow. Seize the day” (Luke 9:62 The Message).
Today we need to get a realisation that we have no guarantee that we will live tomorrow. Whatever we’re going to do, we better do it now. If Jesus is inviting us into a fresh start today we mustn’t delay in seizing the moment.
