Thought of the day.

“He heals the brokenhearted.” (Psalm 147:3, NIV)
Responding to a betrayal is a process, and the most important part of that process is for us to decide to let God heal us. Healing comes from God alone and not from the other party’s apology or a change in circumstances neither of which may ever come.
Do we really have to let God heal us? Won’t He just do it automatically?
Some people don’t want to heal and feel that it is their right to hold onto hurt and hold a grudge against the offending party. What they don’t realize is how much they are hurting themselves and those around them. It affects our health, our relationships and will hold back our victories in every area of our life.
We need to forgive in order to be set free. We must let God heal us and invite Him to come into the hurting places of our hearts and make them new. He can renew our heart and soul to be as if the betrayal never even happened. In fact, He can take our situation and use it to make us better. Our Heavenly Father works ALL THINGS to our good.
