Purpose of the anointing for us as Christians:

1. Empowerment by the Holy Spirit:
Anointing enables us as believers to live for God and serve with His power.

Luke 4:18 – “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to preach the gospel…”

2. Consecration (Set Apart for God’s Purpose)
Anointing marks us as believers as holy and dedicated to God’s service.

1 Peter 2:9 – “You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation…”

3. Healing and Restoration
Anointing is used in prayer for physical and spiritual healing.

James 5:14 – “Anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord.”

4. Teaching and Discernment
The anointing helps believers know the truth and remain in Christ.

1 John 2:27 – “The anointing you received from Him remains in you… and teaches you about all things.”

5. Spiritual Authority and Calling
Anointing confirms and equips us as believers for our God-given roles.

2 Corinthians 1:21 – “Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us…”
