Pride is considered spiritually dangerous for several reasons:
1. Separates from God
Pride can lead to self-reliance and diminish dependence on God (Proverbs 16:18).
2. Leads to sin
It often precedes other sins like arrogance, envy, and judgmental attitudes.
3. Blocks spiritual growth
Pride makes it hard to accept correction or grow in humility and grace.
4. Destroys relationships
It fosters conflict, resentment, and lack of forgiveness.
5. Opposes God’s character
God values humility; pride contradicts the example of Christ (James 4:6, Philippians 2:5–8).
6. Invites downfall
Scripture warns that pride comes before destruction (Proverbs 16:18).

These points highlight why humility is a core Christian virtue.
