Thought for the day

It is completely normal for a person to occasionally feel inferior to others in certain ways. An inferiority complex is a result of many stressors and its symptoms are very often not obvious. However, there are ways to overcome this silent killer. An inferiority complex hinders us from exploring our creativity and unleashing the God-given potentials within us. Knowing our inferiority complexes, its causes, and symptoms can guarantee us overcoming our inferiority complex. Importantly, we should note that everyone feels inferior at some point, so we are not alone. Remember, YOU ARE YOU and that is a fact. It is only when we can overcome our inferiority complex that we can fully live our true life by stepping into our true identity which lies in Christ. We then come to the realisation that we don’t need to compare ourselves to others but that we just need to be who God has called us to be according to His Will and Purpose. We are then able to fulfill our God given purpose.

Here are some scriptures to meditate on whenever we have feelings of inferiority:

Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
2 Corinthians 11:5 “Indeed, I consider that I am not in the least inferior to these super-apostles.”
Galatians 3:28 “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”
Exodus 4:11-12 (NIV) “The LORD said to him, ‘Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the LORD? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”
Job 12:3 “But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you. Who does not know such things as these?”
