Thought for the day

In Luke 10:38–42, Jesus visits the home of Martha and Mary. While Martha busied herself with serving, Mary chose to sit at Jesus’ feet and listen. Martha was doing something good, but Mary chose what Jesus called “better.”
As followers of Christ, we are called to both worship and serve. But the order matters. When we start with time in His presence, our hearts are filled, our minds are centered, and our service becomes joyful, not burdensome. Without that time, even good work can leave us tired, anxious, and distracted.
Let’s be people who first sit with Jesus, then rise to serve Him, letting our doing flow out of our being with Him.

Be a Mary before you’re a Martha, because devotion fuels effective service.
