Thought for the day

(This is a repost of an experience I had which I am led to share again. I trust you will be encouraged.)

As I was reflecting on the fact that our Heavenly Father is our protector and that He will never leave us or forsake us I was reminded of this:

A personal testimony of God’s protection in a situation that arose when I was doing ministerial studies at Rhema Bible College in Randburg a couple of decades ago. I attended classes every evening from 5pm – 9pm Monday to Friday. On this particular evening I was on my way home, at around 21h15,which was literally 10 minutes by vehicle from Rhema Bible College.Like every other evening I pulled into our drive way and stopped the car and exited the car in order to open our large wooden driveway gates. As I got to the wooden gates I heard a car pull up behind me. Three men with white painted faces jumped out of red Toyota Tazz and ran towards me. The next minute I was being pushed to the floor and a 9mm pistol was shoved into my face by one of the perpetrators. We lived in a double storey house and my wife and three children were able to witness what was happening and I could hear my wife screaming on the top of her voice for the men to leave me alone. I started praying in the spirit as they were shaking me and asking for the car keys and for whatever money I had on me. I started saying “Jesus“under my breath and then I started declaring the name of Jesus progressively louder. I felt this most amazing peace flood my body and I felt the presence of God surround me. At that point I saw the eyes of the perpetrator, who had a gun to my face, suddenly become wide and he jumped up and shouted something at the other two. There was sudden confusion and the gate that was closed, opened for me to get through. The men fled in fear and they didn’t take my vehicle although they left with the key.

I have no doubt in my mind that God is our protector and that He watches our every move. I emerged out of this unscathed with a testimony that glorifies our amazing Heavenly Father. I have no proof of this but to this day I am convinced that a massive angel appeared behind me which instilled the fear of God in these men causing them to flee for their lives.
There is power in the Name of Jesus.
Be reminded that He is your protector and that He will never leave you or forsake you.
