Thought for the day
As Christians we should not be quarrelsome for the following reasons:
1. Christ Calls Us to Peace and Humility
Jesus was gentle and humble. As His followers, we’re called to be peacemakers, not proud or argumentative. (Matthew 5:9)
2. Quarreling Destroys Unity
Arguments cause division in the Church. We’re told to avoid foolish disputes and pursue unity. (2 Timothy 2:23-24)
3. Our Witness Depends on Our Conduct
People watch how we treat others. A loving, respectful attitude reflects Christ to the world. (John 13:35)
4. God Wants Us Slow to Anger
Being quick to listen and slow to argue shows spiritual maturity and honors God. (James 1:19-20)
5. It Distracts from the Gospel
Constant arguing over minor issues shifts focus from Jesus to personal opinions. (1 Timothy 6:4-5)
Being non-quarrelsome protects unity, strengthens our witness, and keeps our focus on Christ. We’re called to speak truth with love, patience, and humility.
