Thought for the day

Dealing with conflict should reflect the teachings and example of Jesus. Here’s a brief guide based on biblical principles:
1. Seek Peace First
“Blessed are the peacemakers” (Matthew 5:9). Christians are called to pursue reconciliation, not revenge or escalation.
2. Approach with Love and Humility
Confront issues in a spirit of gentleness and respect (Galatians 6:1; Ephesians 4:2). Avoid pride or anger.
3. Address Issues Directly and Privately
Jesus taught in Matthew 18:15 to go privately to the person first when they sin against you. Don’t gossip or involve others unnecessarily.
4. Be Willing to Forgive
As God has forgiven us, we are called to forgive others (Colossians 3:13; Matthew 6:14-15). Forgiveness is not excusing wrong but releasing bitterness.
5. Speak the Truth in Love
Ephesians 4:15 encourages honest but loving communication. Avoid harsh words or passive aggression.
6. Involve Wise Counsel if Needed
If private efforts fail, bring in mature, godly believers to help mediate (Matthew 18:16-17).
7. Trust God with the Outcome
Not all conflicts resolve perfectly.
“As far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone” (Romans 12:18). Do your part, and trust God with the rest.
