Thought for the day

As a Christian, avoiding self-promotion is rooted in biblical principles of humility and dependence on God.
Here are a few key reasons:
1. Humility is Christlike
Jesus modeled humility (Philippians 2:3–8), and we are called to follow His example rather than seek personal glory.
2. Glory belongs to God
Promotion and success should point to God’s work, not our own (1 Corinthians 10:31).
3. God is the promoter
The Bible teaches that promotion comes from God, not ourselves (Psalm 75:6–7).
4. Self-promotion can lead to pride
Excessive focus on self can foster pride, which the Bible warns against (Proverbs 16:18).
5. Service over self
We as Christians are called to serve others rather than seek attention or recognition (Mark 10:43–45).

In essence, our Christian’s life should reflect dependence on God, humility, and a desire to glorify Him rather than self.
