Thought of the day.
What do we think about when we hear the word “purity”?
In most instances our default setting is to sexual purity and practicing sexual purity. Or alternatively we think about moral purity. However when the Word of God speaks about purity it is really speaking about keeping ourselves from sin. So being pure means being without sin. There are many instances in which the New Testament points to purity as an issue of being free from sin ( 1 Philippians 1:10, 4:8; 1 Peter 3:2)
Purity is not merely an issue of lust but something far deeper. It is an issue that is at the very heart of the Christian life.
In the next three posts I will be looking at the following:
1. Purity is about wholeness.
2. Purity is about devotion.
3. Purity is about Jesus Christ.
